Walking our Way Towards a Healthy Heart: AUTA successfully organised the CPR Awareness Programme on the 13th of April 2023, in collaboration with the Heart Care Society of Assam, Barak Valley Chapter and Green Heals Hospital

A Workshop on Heart Health: A Silver Jubilee Festival of the AUTA

The workshop commenced with the Inaugural Session at 11:45 am
It started with a stotra sung by Dr Jagannath Barman
Guests were next felicitated with presentation of Uttariya and mementoes to
the Chief Guest Dr Ahmed Hussain Choudhury, Vice Chairman, HCSA, BVC,
Mr Pinak Kanti Chakraborty, Zonal Secretary of State & PRO (BVC) HCSA and Dr Manab Nath, Asstt. Secretary, HCSA, BVC by the Vice Chancellor, Assam University, Prof. Rajive Mohan Pant.
Welcome address by the General Secretary AUTA Dr. Amalendu Chakraborty was followed by the address of the Guest of Honour, Dr. Ahamed on cardiac health awareness.
Next, there was the Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Awareness Programme.
This was followed by an interactive session where teachers asked Dr. Ahamed Hassan Choudhury questions on various aspects of cardiac health.


An extensive round of questions were answered by Dr Choudhury in the interactive session.

Next, we had the address by the Chief Guest – Hon’ble VC, AUS
The presidential address was delivered by the President AUTA, Dr. Devashish Sengupta.
Following lunch hour, there was the technical session of the Workshop with the following in house presentations:

  1. Prof Manabendra Dutta Choudhury – (Life Science) Acroline – A Risk Factor for CVD
  2. Dr Mahuya Sengupta – (Biotechnology) Heart Matters: The Pathophysiology of the Human Heart
  3. Dr Abimanyu. S – (Pharmaceutical Science) Heart Disease: How Medicines Function to Treat Heart Diseases
  4. Dr Shatabhisha Roychoudhury (Health Centre AUS) Stress and Cardiac Health

Summative assessment and address by the chairperson of the session, Prof. Asoke Sen was followed by the vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Biswaranjan Roy (Jt Secretary AUTA).
Both the inaugural and technical programs were compered by Dr. Ratna Huriem and Dr Barunjyoti Choudhury.

The emphasis on a stress-free life style devoid of processed food, red meat, synthetic food with adequate physical exercise and regular checkups evolved as the good practice to deal with any crisis of the Heart. Dr Ahmed Hussain Choudhury along with the other speakers highlighted various case histories wherein the possession of Aspirin 300 mg along with CLopidogrel 75 mg and Atorvastatin 80 mg should be carried by individuals with risks of heart attacks, at all times.
